ALLENTOWN, PA — The Allentown School District (ASD) is hosting a back-to-school event and backpack giveaway in partnership with the City of Allentown and community organizations on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Beach Park. This is the first district-wide event that will invite all students and families to participate to celebrate the return to school for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The #OneAllentown Back-to-School Bash is organized by the Allentown School District Central Administration and Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council and aims to celebrate students, families, and staff, while also building and strengthening community partnerships.
“This event offers an excellent opportunity to kick off the school year as #OneAllentown,” said Dr. Carol D. Birks, Superintendent. “Families and the community are major levers in impacting student achievement and this event gives an opportunity to leverage the collective strengths of our entire community to impact the long-term future success of our students. We are excited to provide this opportunity to our students to ensure they have the resources to start the school year successfully, but also excite them to return to school and engage families on a deeper level.”

There will be games, food, and activities for families and children of all ages. Local organizations will also be on-site to provide educational resources and information.
