prekThe Allentown School District is now accepting registrations for Pre-Kindergarten students for the 2023-2024 school year.

Enrollment is open to all children who will be four years old prior to September 1, 2023, and who live within Allentown School District’s boundaries

“We are excited to welcome Pre-Kindergarten students to start their educational journey within our Allentown Learning Community,” said Dr. Carol D. Birks, Allentown School District’s Superintendent. “Pre-Kindergarten is an investment in the lives of our youngest children. These early learning experiences will  provide  our students with a strong foundation for learning, build their social skills, and foster their  emotional well-being. Further research suggests that high quality early learning programs will empower our youngest learners both academically and personally. Children who participate in high quality early learning opportunities tend to have better academic performance, higher graduation rates and increased likelihood of pursuing higher education.”

Due to limited seats, applications will be prioritized based on multiple factors including family size and income. Families are invited to begin the application process by clicking this link, creating an account and selecting "Pre-K Application": https://bit.ly/3m8oyGk

Once your application is completed and reviewed, the District will inform applicants regarding their status. Orientation for Pre-Kindergarten students and families will take place during the week of August 21, 2023 at their assigned school.

The Allentown School District serves more than 16,000 students within three high schools, four middle schools, 14 elementary schools, and four special programs. The District, with the support of the community, strives to meet the individual needs of every student through active engagement in a rigorous, safe, nurturing, and culturally responsive learning environment. Administrators, teachers, and staff work to accelerate the academic performance of all students across all grade levels.

The first day of school is Monday, August 28, 2023.
